Eagle Scouts

Eagle Scout is the highest rank a Scout can earn in a Scouting America troop. First awarded in 1912, it reflects years of outdoor skills, leadership and service, and it stays with a Scout for life. Since 2021, young women have earned it too.

Every Eagle Scout has led a service project for their community, earned at least 21 merit badges and served as a leader of fellow Scouts. This is our honor roll, and we’re proud of every name on it.

The road to Eagle

  • Be active in the troop for at least six months as a Life Scout
  • Earn at least 21 merit badges, including the 13 Eagle-required badges
  • Serve six months in a troop leadership position
  • Plan, develop and lead a service project that helps the community, a school or a religious institution
  • Live the Scout Oath and Law, then complete a Scoutmaster conference and an Eagle board of review

Everything except the board of review must be finished before the Scout’s 18th birthday.
