About Us
About Our Troop

Troop 182G was formed March 17, 2021. As a "Girls-Led Troop," it is the policy of Troop 182G that the programs and activities will be planned and carried out by the girls, with supervision by the adult leadership. This is the only way the scouts will learn leadership skills and to deal with the consequences of their decisions and actions. The success of their scouting experience depends largely on the effort and commitment they put into the various activities, and on the girl leaders they elect.

Joining Troop 182G

To become a Scouts BSA, a girl:

She must know and be willing to live by the Scout Oath and Scout Law, and participate in troop and patrol activities. Her parents or guardian must be willing to work with her in the troop. The more involved the family is in Scouts BSA, the more rewarding experience the scout discovers. We encourage parents to become trained leaders and can always find roles for volunteers.

Troop Meetings

Troop 182G meets every Thursday from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm during the school year in the conference room at Hughes Community Center, at 1000 E Parkway in Russellville AR. Check the calendar for specific dates. Meetings are opportunities for the girls to get to know others in their patrols, work on learning skills and showing mastery to earn rank advancement, and planning for activities.

Weekend Camping

Troop 182G camps once a month throughout the school year. The campout themes are chosen by the girl leaders at an annual conference and have included climbing, sailing, spelunking, canoeing, whitewater rafting, shooting sports, wilderness survival and urban scavenger hunts to name a few. The girls work in patrols to establish camp, cook and facilitate the campout activities.
